Pre Show: Cody Rhodes vs RyBaxel
Prediction: nobody will care if I don’t preview this match.
New Age Outlaws vs The Usos
I think this match will open the PPV because the Outlaws will get the crowd pumped up for the rest of the card. This feud has actually been entertaining for what it has been, but it seems clear that the Outlaws will win and carry the Tag titles into Mania, before putting a team over on the big stage. Not to say that team can’t be the Usos, if the Outlaws pick up a cheap win, or get themselves DQ’d, it could lead to an elongated feud between these two teams and the Usos going over at Mania.
Darren Young vs Titus O’Neil
I’m still not sure why they split the PTP’s up, but its clear they want to push Titus. I’m also not sure why they turned Titus heel, except for the fact that WWE is very shortsighted and having a guy turn on his partner is an easy way to break them up while getting the heel temporary heat.
Anyhow, Titus wins this one unless WWE wants to throw a curveball just for the hell of it.
Big E vs Jack Swagger
It is nice that WWE is trying something for the Intercontinental Championship, but this something is only about a half step above nothing. There is no real reason to think Big E won’t retain, but I’m still hoping Swagger wins it and somehow winds up in a match with Cesaro for the IC belt at Mania. The IC belt is now the second most prestigious title (theoretically) and I think Cesaro is the man who can bring back the prestige.
Batista vs Alberto Del Rio
This won’t be match of the night, let’s just put it that way. Hopefully it is relatively quick and painless and Batista doesn’t try to get cute and tell a story. Just come out, win the match, we won’t care and we can all move on. Batista wins to show how great he is and “build momentum” toward his big title win at Mania. Yayyyyy.
Randy Orton vs John Cena vs Daniel Bryan vs Antonio Cesaro vs Sheamus vs Christian- Elimination Chamber match for WWE World Heavyweight Championship
The big question surrounding this one is if Brock Lesnar is going to show up and raise hell. It is a pipe dream that has grown legs because the IWC desperately wants to see it happen, but as of now I’m pegging it as a long shot at best. What impact will Christian’s heel turn have on this match? I’m willing to bet almost none.
I suspect Cesaro will steal the show, possibly eliminating Christian after a cool spot and maybe even Sheamus, before Cena eventually gets the better of him. Bryan will most likely be the last man standing vs Orton, before Orton goes over leading up to the most hotly anticipated WWE Championship match in WWE history at Wrestlemania 30: Orton vs Batista.
The Wyatts vs The Shield
This match is placed last because it is the true main event. No, it won’t close the show, but it is what we all want to see tonight. It is fairly obvious the Wyatts will win the match and help lead to the break up of The Shield, but seeing it unfold will be amazing. WWE likes to say certain matches have a “big fight feel” and it doesn’t get any bigger than this. It feels like a perfectly booked feud between two powerhouse groups and the clash will be everything that is right about pro wrestling.
